Spiritual Danes is located in a small, quaint town in Maryland.  Parkton is beautiful, serene country, 30 miles north of Baltimore Inner Harbor, in Northern Baltimore County.  We reside in a dog-friendly community where we built our home 2 years ago.  We are located on 2 acres which is backing to a 40 acre wooded area of GunPowder State Park. Growing up, a black and tan coonhound, Lock and a doberman pinscher, Sheba were a treasured part of our family.  My love and passion for great danes began shortly after a beautiful blue boy, named Maximillion, “Max” for short, fifteen years ago entered my world. The humourous personality Max possessed, became a characteristic of this breed I fell in love with from day one.
Max was well known in Sacandaga Lake, in the Adirondacks, as he would frequently open the door to escape and gallop through the mountains. He would always "stop in" to say hello to the owners at the local general store. He disliked cats, and every so often he would turn the water on in the tub to attempt to drown the cats hanging out in the tub.  There was also a gentle side to this animal, which I found extraordinary.  He layed by my father's feet while battling metastatic lung cancer. When spending time with us, he never left my father's side.  Max was a true ambassador of this breed.  It was at this very moment I possessed the desire to own a dane of my own someday.
Now, my passion for this breed runs very deep.  Our danes are a part of our family.  My approach is holistic, feeding a raw diet, supplements, a minimal vaccination program, and no chemicals (flea/tick preventatives and heartworm medication).  We utilize chiropractic, acupuncture, herbal remedies, and homeopathic approaches to treatment.  I firmly believe after much research, the canine population is experiencing the health issues they are due to poor quality foods, overvaccination, and widespread use of chemicals.   Health testing on a yearly basis is a priority.
My goals in a breeding program are very similar to my mentors'.  I am far from an expert on the breed and am constantly learning.  I will only proceed with my first breeding when the timing is perfect.  Health testing and temperament are a number one priority, followed by the structural aspects of the breed documented within the GDCA standard, including movement and type.  At the time of breeding, our puppies will only be placed in approved, loving homes that will care for them for the remainder of their lifetime.  I will provide support to the owner throughout the life of the puppy, as I feel I would be responsible for the puppy ensuring they are in a loving and caring environment.  If you are looking for a puppy at this time, I am more than willing to provide you with a list of respected breeders.

Please feel free to look around our website, and sign our guestbook.  We love to receive feedback!  Please email me with any questions or information the site provides.
